Dry Laminating

Lam 35 & 70 dry laminating & bonding machine

Key Benefits

Roll To Roll Or Piece Goods.
Dry Adhesive Films.
Simple In Operation.

The Model "LAM" Dry Laminating Machine is a single process machine, capable of dry laminating 2 or 3 materials of 3 metres and above, at speeds of 10 metres per minute at temperatures between 50 and 250 degrees centigrade.

3 in 1 Application.

The "LAM" is versatile, offering a choice of models.  It will operate in its prime mode as a dry laminating machine - bonding materials together, using intermediate agents such as thermoplastic films, plastic nets or pre-coated fabrics, secondly it can be used to calender open width fabrics prior to dry laminating, to pre-stabilise them, thirdly to eliminate fabric creasing or further shrinkage during subsequent processing.

The "LAM" is multi-purpose and can dry laminate high pile fabrics to face fabrics, foam to face fabrics and conventional "sandwich" laminates.  The "LAM" can also deal with non-wovens and metallic films.

Major features of the "LAM" are its uniform pressure control of material from start to finish, and its automatic blanket control.

The "LAM" has a high efficiency Teflon-coated heating cylinder with Teflonised ceramic as an option, located at its centre.  Most important is the unique flow-path providing total control throughout; adjustable pressure rollers above the exit from the heating cylinder maintain uniform pressure, particularly at the point the "sandwich" is formed.  Uniform tension and pressure is applied both before and after lamination.

An aspect of the "LAM 35" is the input feed zone which is longer than usual; the blanket feed takes the material to the heating cylinder and provides support and hence complete bonding occurs.  Air pockets, a common defect in dry laminating, are eliminated due to the effects of the blanket support system.

Cooling is by high pressure cold air, which quickly solidifies the adhesive.  The cooling zone is close to the exit and materials are cooled in only 3 to 5 seconds.

The chain drive to heating cylinder and pressure rollers is inter-linked with a gear unit and variable speed clutches which ensure the blanket and heating cylinder move together to eliminate slippage.

On completion of the process, laminated fabric can be rolled with or without tension.

Two Standard Ranges.

The "LAM 35" and "LAM 70" use heating cylinder diameters of 350mm and 700mm respectively, giving speeds of 3 - 5 metres per minute or 10 - 12 metres per minute.  To provide versatility, several standard widths of LAM machines are available to process fabrics up to 3000mm wide and above.
